They had a case (10 boxes) of .45acp, being purchased by a store manager at a discount after that shelves were empty. Now I know who the people are that get the great deals. Walmart has great "self customer service"

same thing at my walmart --except its the home & garden greeter. He apparently also calls his buddies when a shipment comes in.

This is a VERY common practice, i've just written Wal-Mart off as far as ammo is concerned, I have started ordering all mine online.

Maybe instead of writing them off, we should be writing to Walmart?

i agree, the store manager would want to know.

This.

There are myriad other reasons why you should not support Wal-Mart. Wake up and smell the coffee.

I believe the store manager was the one buying the ammo.

I'm pretty sure that I overheard one of the guys say, "What an ******* of a store manager." They were arguing for 10 mins about how to input his discount while I stood there.

I have pretty much written them off for ammo also, but they always have the fishing stuff I need, and clays too. Just kind of sad about the ammo. In some places they are limiting people to 6 boxes, why not limit the employees also.

Me and my buddy picked up[ 24 boxes of federal 115gr. They still had tons left. Limit 6 boxes per day. We just went to the car and the sales clerk "forgot" us each time we went back. They had about ten cases int total.

This is in Renton WA.

if it was the store manager, then up the chain to the regional manager.

Get to know the salespersons in the Sporting Good department. Give them your business card and ask them to call you when ammo arrives. This was not my own idea. I've always enjoyed speaking with the folks who work the counter, etc. When I couldn't seem to find the right time to drive the 43 miles to try and find ammo, one of the men suggested that I give them my phone number so that they could let me know when they were restocking. It might be an idea that would work elsewhere. Sincerely. Brucev.

So why are you *****ing about a WalMart guy getting his ammo? There has to be some perks to working for WalMart, because it sure isn't the clientele.
Besides every business has that same perk for its employees. At any gun shop the employees get firstdibs on any new weapons.:wavey:

We do not know all of the details. Now, I am with the majority opinion here and can assume that they left it in the back and/or saved it for the manager to purchase. But, it is possible that the ammunition was sitting on the shelf and the manager was picking up a few things on his way home and decided he wanted to do some shooting this weekend. Not likely but possible.

I find my calibers at Walmart most of the time, but my calibers aren't sold out the moment the truck pulls up either. 9mm and 380 are always out.
