Has anybody fired these in a Glock 20 or Glock 29? Just wondered how they functioned and if they cycled 100% reliably.

I didn't know anybody loaded a round this heavy until I saw it at the Double Tap website.

Thanks,
Sorry if this has been covered.

I have a box but I haven't fired any yet. If I get a chance tomorrow I'll post again.

I load the exact same projectile that is in the 200 gr version. I believe that the 200 and 230 have a very similar COAL and profile so they should be comparable. It cycles fine my G20. In fact nothing has failed to cycle in my G20. The WFNGC has a very wide meplat and others with aftermarket barrels have reported feeding issues though.

Should cycle. The double tap guy worked up all the loads in a G20 and G29 is my understanding.

Most guys seem to go with the 200 gr. load though.

I have had zero issues with them cycling through a G29.

I went to the range this weekend with my G20. 50 rounds with 6 grns of Titegroup 180grn Rainier bullets. 50 rounds same bullet with 9grns of Longshot. Then I shot 5 rounds of the DT 230 hardcast. 22 pound spring w/ stainless rod. The DT seemed closer to the felt recoil of the Titegroup than the Longshot. Lighter than the Longshot and brass did not fly as far. Cycled fine.

I went out today and fired a couple mags of it. Cycled fine and shot just a little high.

How fast are those 230's going?

It says 1120 on the box. I don't have any way to check them but the point of didn't didn't drop like subsonic 9's do.

Yes, I have experience with the 230 round. When I first tried them with stock G20 I had a couple of ftfs. Called DT and Mike suggested I try a 22lb recoil spring; said that is what he used in his test G20. I bought a 22lb SScaptured recoil rod from Glockmeister and have not had any further problems, although I havn't shot more than a couple of mag fulls.

My chrono results were 1079fps avg; 38ES; 14SD; from stock G20 4.6" barrel. It is my "Bear Load" and usually carried in my 6" Glock barrel.

"I have had zero issues with them cycling through a G29."

You mean your gun didn't blow up? How about that-shooting cast bullets thru a Glock!

wow, i read on here that DT wont respond to somebody on here that got 180 gr loads in a 200 gr labled box. this was as of lately so i dont know what the deal is.....i think its in caliber section.....id like a reasonable reply for DT because i like his stuff and would like to continue if the problem is explained and resolved....otherwise i have to look elsewhere...
