Rechambering G38 .45GAP~>.45ACP

I read previously that someone had rechambered a G38 from .45GAP to .45ACP. They had stated that they used only 165 grain JHP's to keep the OAL short enough to fit in the G38 magazine. The reason that I would prefer to keep everything in .45 ACP is that I've got several pistols and an SBR'd carbine in .45 ACP.

Any appropriate input would be appreciated.

165 grain bullets have piss poor sectional density in a 45 caliber. I don't plan on getting a GAP but I would get one before using a neutered 45 ACP. 185 to 230 grain bullets are correct for the ACP or GAP IMO.
