I just picked up a new P99 Compact, and when comparing it to my well-used P99 I see a lot of wear on the striker of the P99. I thought the striker was hardened steel and shouldn't wear. The gun works fine.
Am I looking at:
1. Normal wear that will eventually require striker replacement
2. Abnormal wear that requires striker replacement now
3. Deliberate modification for some unknown reason
4. Nothing - I'm crazy.
The area in question is the bottom left of the striker in these photos - this is where the trigger bar contacts the striker on a DA pull. The dirty one is the P99, the clean one is the P99C
