If you're talking series I or series II guns the series II came out in 2001 and feature a swartz firing pin safety. When you're talking Kimbers, like most other manufacturers, older is almost always better.

Also... for a time after going to the Series II, Kimber used an external extractor which proved... unpopular. They switched back to the internal in relatively short order.

The gun will also have a...
Match grade barrel
Target sights
Trigger adjustable for over travel.
Lowered and flared ejection port.
Beavertail
Commander type hammer
Matte phosphate finish, or stainless on the stainless guns.
Slide will be matched to a frame for tightness.

Yes it has a bushing but it might external or internal extractor depending on series I or II. The external were such a failure Kimber started replacing the slides on pistols that came in for service. Some of the external ones worked fine but many did not.
