I'm looking to order 1000 rounds. Any heads up on good deals?

So far, I'm thinking this looks to be a pretty good deal:

http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/catalog1/product_info.php/pName/1000rds-223-centurion-military-contract-55gr-fmj-ammo/cName/223-556-fmj-ammo

I saw the TAP training ammo for a good price as well, but steel cased? Any issues with that (considering I don't reload)?

Thanks.

Palmetto State Armory (a sponsor here) has great deals, shipping, and service. Couple weeks ago, they had PMC Bronze for $319/1000, $12 flat rate shipping. They consistently have best prices.

Widener's Shooting Supplies is also a good place to look.

ATG has been okay for me, but I saw negative posts about three months agao reagarding their pricing, inventory, customer service, so might want to check that out a bit more.

I've been shooting 75Tap training ammo and 55 Tap FMJ training steel cased over 1k rounds now and I have had 0 issues with it. It's dang accurate to be honest in the 75 bthp version. No problem at all with the steel case in my m-4.

I ordered 2K Wolf 62 Gr for $220 per K. Plinking and 3-Gun.

http://www.wideners.com/itemdetail.cfm?item_id=6879

A lot of our 3-Gun shooters use it and performs fine.

I always buy from www.sportsmansguide.com and as a member, I get 5% off ammo and also 4-pay so I can split the payments over 4 months which always helps when you buy bulk ammo.

Thanks for all the replies. I think I'm going with the TAP. $270 for a 1000 rounds is hard to pass. I've read lots of good reviews on it.

Are/were you military or LE? You might be able to get a better price than that from one of the cop shops....I know GT Distributors usually has good prices...

I am not. My brother is LEO, and made mention of them as he's purchased there before. They're wanting $155 per 500 of the TAP.

This is just my personal preference, and I'm sure many here will disagree, but I do not shoot steel case ammo in anything but AKs. Still some good deals out there, such as the Federal and PMC Bronze to name a few.

www.dsgarms.com (http://www.dsgarms.com) occasionally has some pretty good deals. And they offer military/LE discount on pretty much everything. I just ordered a 1000 rd case of 55gr 5.56 Fiocci for $330 shipped (with the military discount). Probably be around $345 reg.
