View Full Version : WTK: Is my 1989 Glock 19 a first generation?
I bought my Glock 19 in May 89. Serial number is ER 55X. Shot less than 200 rounds, still have the numbered box, warranty cards and manual etc.
Went to Europe in 90 and returned to a handgun unfriendly state. Stored it for years. Now that my state has defrosted its gun laws I got it out. Is this gun a 'first generation' or a second?
Value guesstimate?
Thanks!
Don

Check the above link. Your gun is a 2nd generation. They go all day for anywhere from $350-400, but it's really whatever someone will pay for it. Hang on to it.
I paid $375 for the last 2nd gen G19 I bought. They are my favorite Glocks.

I thought only the first gens ever made were G17's as per the picture in SCC's post. To my knowlege the compacts started being made in the 2nd gen frame style only. Just my two cents.

A few prototype Gen1 G19s are floating around out there. I've heard there's as few as five in the county and they're considered the Holy Grail of Glocks.
Here's a few pictures including one from a fellow GTer!
