I'm new to AR's and I'd like to know if this is normal ? When I remove the bolt from the carrier it is fairly hard to push the bolt back in the carrier. Also I noticed my can pin has shiny areas where the coating is worn off. Dumb questions but stuff likes this bothers me.

Thanks in advance.

I'm a relative new guy too, but my bolt is also rather hard to put in the carrier. I would assume that you want this to be as tight as possible so that no gasses escape.?.? I'm not sure what a can pin is but I would guess that the wear you see is fine.

That's normal, just use steady even pressure. The resistance is your
gas rings getting compressed into the carrier. The also tend to scrape
the lube off the carrier as the bolt is inserted.
Place a drop of clp on the gas rings before installing the bolt into the carrier.

All normal, but be sure to oil that sucker before inserting it.
