hey all,

I am pretty new to these forums but thought i would stop in and say hello. my first gun was a G17 which i still own and love. i also own an SA XDM9 and have an XD40 sub-compact in order for my CCW. as for long guns, i own a Remmington 870 express that has some mods on it, also own an 870 Tactical (i love that gun so much lol), Norinko SKS, German WWII mauser k98k, and my newest addition is a Rock River Arms LAR-15 Elite Operator edition. It is one helluva a rifle lol. I can post pics somewhere if there is interest but mostly just sayin hi and cant wait to start having conversations around the forums.

Welcome, fellow Oregonian! There are a few of us around these parts, but no one ever comes in the regional forums...at least for the NW shooters. GNG is your best bet. Welcome aboard!

Sorry, but we already have our quota of Oregonians. You will just have to wait until one of us gets hit by a Max train or makes the mistake of picking our nose in front of the PPD and gets shot for reaching for a weapon for a spot to open up. :tongueout:

I am having trouble believing you are actually from Aloha, OR (pronounced "uh-low-uh" for some odd reason for you non-locals) because your post is not in Spanish and you didn't mention your low rider.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I move here from Beaverton about 6 months ago to save $300 a month in rent, but as the weather gets nicer, and the "locals" start increasing in numbers outside, the urge to move is hitting me.

South of Hillsboro, just west of Aloha here.

And there are plenty of Aloha residents for whom English (or Engrish) is not their second language. There are plenty of Alohan's that sport mullets, have six non-running vehicles parked around their unmowed lawn, and let their chillun's run amok in little more than a soiled diaper. :) I've heard more than a few of our sheriff's deputies refer to Aloha as "The anus of Washington County" - I'm almost inclined to agree with them - but the neighorhood in Tigard I used to live in gave them a pretty darn good run for that money. (112th & Gaarde in one of the apartment complexes there)

Welcome aboard.

Greetings from LO. The only problem in our neighborhood is the guy who parks his pickup in my driveway. It's a beater. His weps, however, are nice and shiny, including the Kimber Classic Custom he's picking up tomorrow.

If I was out in Tigard I would shoot at Tri-County.

I joined the Portland Rifle & Pistol Club. Except for today, in 4 years, I've not had to wait to shoot. Usually the place is empty during the day. You can shoot JHP, 22 cal & air rifle with the 22 cal and air rifle available 24/7. $200 to join, $100 per year dues, indoor, close (across the Banfield Fwy from Providence), with bathrooms, lunch room etc. I like that it's dry and has heaters, fans, etc.

Tri-County is a great place, and you can take your long-guns there. But for the 24/7 access, I may have chosen Tri-County over PRPC. I may join both, who knows.

Otherwise, there are private clubs like the Johnson Creek Club, Place to Shoot at Jantzen Beach, Portland Gun Club (trap shooting).

I would seriously think about indoor ranges, Even w/ ear plugs and good muffs, those places are loud. Especially w/ multiple shooters. I did belong to JCGC, really enjoyed the indoor aspect, but all of that ear-damaging noise coming off of flat walls. An indoor range w/ modern sound-absorbing materials on walls - maybe? I would stay outside - your ears are worth it! And Tri-County is a great range. Good Luck.
