Ugly or OK?

Anybody have pictures of such a thing?

Thanks,

It would look good if all the other little parts were black as well.

I have 3 Para-Ord all stainless guns. Each has a black mainspring housing. Doesn't look bad, doesn't look uber-tacticool either. Maybe if the other controls were black as well, it would be a good contrast.

I bought a SW1911 that had a black mainspring housing and it did have black controls. I like a stainless housing on a stainless gun but it does not totally look out of place.

That's what I was thinking.

I'm sure someone could photoshop a picture.

I've got a few like that.

They look fine.

depends on the grips to me. If dark colored grips then the black MSH does not stick out like a sore thumb on an otherwise shiny gun.

I'm not real fond of multi-toned pistols but here is my S&W 108284.

I have the same gun as Cobra64 (except mine has the billboard) an did not even notice the black controls until a few days later. I would prefer silver controls to match the matte stainless finish of the gun but it is not worth replacing IMO.

I agree. If it were a semi-custom, then aesthetics become another whole issue.

I put this MSH on this gun not for the "two tone" look but because it's one of the Pachmayr rubber-coated aluminum ones. Very comfortable to shoot. I am picky about the aesthetics of the gun but it never bothered me. I thought it was fine. You will have to imagine the slide is there; I traded it off for a Glock 23.

Thanks for the pics guys, you convinced me that it's OK, but I think if I go with a black mainspring housing I would need to change all the controls to black as well as the hammer and grip safety.

I wasn't planning on changing all those parts. I really just wanted a flat mainspring housing...I might be wiser to just buy a gray one!
