Some of the general suppiers list new brass for the G.A.P., but no one including Starline has any in stock. I asked Starline today what quantity would get their machinery making this stuff, and I'll add their answer as soon as I get it.

How many of you are willing to submit a real order for G.A.P. brass to Starline? Minimum order is 500 cases for $82.

I placed an order for 1000 a couple days ago... As long as I get it by April-ish its fine with me.

The real question is when am I getting that G39... hmmm

I don't reload, but if i were to save my brass from the range, would it be something i could resell?

Many folks, including myself, purchase once fired brass, so yes, you could sell it.

Another source for new brass is www.midwayusa.com

I placed an order for 1,000 pieces from Starline last week also. Now I'm thinking about upping that order by another 1,000.

i was really considering getting into reloading. is starline saying that they are behind (out of stock) or that they have stopped producing until the demand is worth their time?

there is a big difference in saying out of stock vs there's not enough demand!

thanks

I ordered some GAP brass from Starline yesterday. While I wish they had it in stock, if you look at their listing of brass, they are backordered on a lot of other brass also. Just a sign of the times we are in! I am not in the manufacturing business, but I imagine that converting the machines over to produce a different type of brass takes a while, and is expensive since the machines don't make money when they sit idle.
I satisfied my need for a short while by getting 300 from Midway, and by buying six boxes of Winchester 230 gr RN just to shoot my new G-38. If the Starline brass doesn't come in soon, at least I have enough to go shooting for a while.

I too ordered a thousand, today. Still no word from them on when they'll make this stuff.

I am glad i ordered and received mine about 4 months ago. I orderd 1,000 from Starline and had it in 5 days. Must be they had it in stock at the time. I also ordered 9x21 3 weeks ago and received it in 5 days after the order was placed. Guess i should consider myself lucky.

Contributed a 500 rd order.
I visited their plant when they were in LA. It is going to take a lot of demand for them to ramp up any cartridge case (though it looks like the need nearly all of them). They produced thousands of cases daily with 30 gal barrels of brass all over the place. Probably would take longer to set up to produce our GAP brass than to run it:faint:

Starline notified me yesterday afternoon by e-mail that my order was shipping (same day as e-mail 2.16.10).

The order was for 1k of GAP and 1k of 9mm brass. I assume it's for both as I had asked them to hold the order until all could be shipped at the same time.

Hope the order for bullets from from Montana Gold makes it in this week also.

Brass from Starline arrived today - 9mil only. Hopefully they'll run a new lot of GAP brass soon.

Bullets from Montana Gold came also.

I just bought some GAP brass off of Gunbroker. Plenty on there.
