I love the way it feels. i haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, but I will as soon as possible.

Not bad looking for a cheapo AK is it?

I wouldn't consider myself a purist but I don't like M4 stocks in general, much less on an AK.

5.45 or 5.56?

I have been thinking about changing mine out myself. The thing is I have the Romanian an I like the shorter stalk to it an have yet to find its match.

I'm far from a purist, I just don't like M4 stocks on anything but an M4. I have a few sets of poly furniture for my Romanian AK's that add some places to mount a light, etc. But I don't see the point of an adjustable stock like the M4 on an AK. Not when you can put a folder on it instead. This is more useful because it makes the rifle more compact, and versatile. Outside of that, it's your rifle. Do what genuinely works best for you.

I wasn't looking to buy an M4 style stock, but I came across one at my local shop for $15 and figured it was worth it.

My original plan was to buy a Tapco Intrafuse dual rail system and buy the Tapco Stubby grip and a fixed stock for it, and everything was going to be in dark earth. But my girlfriend bought the stock for me, and when I went to get my sights adjusted at another store, the guy showed me the UTG hand guard and I liked it so I bought that.

Then I went back to the original shop I was at and picked up the UTG vert grip.

Yes, I am balling a budget for sure hahahaha.

But for my needs, a cheap WASR, and some cheaper furniture is all I need.

And for those of you wondering it is chambered in 5.45. The grip doesn't get in the way of loading a new mag in. I have the grip far enough to where mags go in and out easily. But I still think I may pick up the Tapco stubby grip because I'd like to have the grip closer to me.

How do you guys like those Tapco folding stocks? I picked one up at the gun show a few weeks ago and the hinge is plastic and flexed quite a bit.

For this reason I went with a Romanian wire folder on my Saiga.

No doubt the wire is sturdier. I like the Tantal one best.

Overall, however, I'm fine with the Tapco. It does have a touch of flex. But a good pull into the shoulder with it works fine for me. It adds about an inch or so of pull which is nice also. Is it breakable? Perhaps. Does it degrade accuracy - not significantly IMO. Overall I like it. Might even downgrade recoil a touch - again, insignificant amount.

Overall I rate it good for the price. Not great.

i like the tapco folder ok, it has alittle flex when your fooling with it, but when you have it pulled into your shoulder shooting it dosn't seem to be a problem. fun to shoot folded too.

One of the Tapco guys at SHOT told me they were making them too.

I am stoked about it. As soon as my shop gets some in I'll be taking some home to do some "product testing" lol

They also had some pink AR furniture. It actually looked pretty rad. The guy said they weren't sure if they were just gonna do a limited run, like the pink 10/22 stock, or they were gonna do a full blown line of it.

I got the notification about the pink furniture yesterday too.

I ordered some Bulgy surplus 5.45 mags a few days before I found out tapco was coming out with them. I like them and for 9 bucks each, can't be beat.

AR stocks are good if multiple lengths of pull on the same rifle are needed. Other than that, I know of no benefits. Open to suggestions :)

Tapco stock adapters and mags aren't worth the low prices. If you actually want to train with your rifle avoid at all costs.

Really annoying music but you get the point.

If you can't do AK push-ups on the mag then don't buy them.

Chinese steel mags. Buy 10 or more and they are $8.95 a mag.

everything else < steel mags < bulgy circle 10. And its looking like all of those < US Palm.

Steel mags are the cheapest. I see 0 reasons to ever buy any mag that falls into the "everything else" category. Let alone the known to be ****ty tapco.

well i'm not going to train with it, its a fun gun to play with and shoot. other than that it servers no real purpose for me. so for me the cheap tapco stuff works fine, i've got about 600 rounds through them so far without any failures and i'm sure not gonna do pushups off a rifle or mag. its not the gun i would grab to go into combat with. but i have no interest in ever being in combat again. its also not what i would use for home protection thats why we have shotguns, and if i ever had to reach out and touch someone god forbid i have rifles for that task.

I got the plastic solid stock and grip from Arsenal Inc. in Vegas but they're too flimsy for me. I think that I'm going to have to rethink about getting a set of furnitures from Ironwood. You can't do a proper buttstroke with the flimsy ass plastic crap.
