This is one of my favorite 1911s.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=157554207

You don't see them for sale often.

This one is just like mine, with no front cocking serrations. It doesn't have the BlacK T finish option that mine has, but it does have a very nice set of aftermarket grips.

If I didn't already have one, I'd buy it. Its one of my top three best shooting 1911s.

Man, I wish I hadn't gotten laid off. I miss being able to jump on cool stuff like this. Hopefully somebody here gets it.

I hope so too.

I've been praising this model up and down for years on here and post every time one is up for sale, which isn't often.

This example is particularly nice.

I wish they still made their pistols. When I was looking for a CMP 50 yard gun, I wanted one of their Perry guns so bad. They stopped making them, and I couldn't find one anywhere.

Yep, none of their 1911s come up that often online.

You probably have a better chance of being struck by lightening than to find one in a local shop.

There's one in a local shop in the Phoenix area. I don't know the model, but if you're interested, PM me for the shop info.

I'll that the Limited Match over any Wilson, except the Super Grade.

I saw that one a few days ago Bac. One thing I didn't like is the slide looks kinda' plum. Don't mind that so much on a P7, but not on a 1911, superb though it otherwise is.

Well, the RRA bluing is rather thin, as I've mentioned in the past.

They really pushed the hard chrome or Black T options. When I bought mine, I went with the latter.

Its just not the Limited Match that I love so much. :)

I like the description . . . Never fired.

Followed by a target photo with bullet holes.

Uh...

Unfired means never fired outside the factory.

That's a standard, my friend.

For the prices these are approaching, I would buy a Les Baer PII tactical or a Super Tac, or a Wilson Combat CQB or Classic before I dropped $2200+ on a RRA from a company that is no longer making or customer supporting their products.

Just my opinion. :wavey:

That's cool.

However, I feel the RRA Limited Match is a good deal better than either of those.

By the way, RRA stands behind their 1911s even though they stopped producing them.

If I would have seen this thread 3 days ago, that pistol would be mine! I am paying for a .308 LMT rifle 72 hours ago I would have paid up to $2400.00 for that pistol. They are very nice and extremely rare!

Bac, I know you own one of these, and I don't. However, I would be curious to know as to why you think so.

Les Baer SRP/Super Tac? I own a SRP and know how great it is.
Wilson CQB Elite? Awesome.
Volkmann Custom Combat? Awesome.

Why do you think the RRA LM is a good deal better?

I can see maybe purchasing it for a safe queen/collector due to the perceived "limited collectibility" of it. But really? A better shooter?

I based my customer service comment on just some of the comments on M1911.ORG from owners trying to get parts and such out of RRA. I know that RRA now has members that follow the M1911.ORG and 1911Forums for questions.

James

Well, I shouldn't have made that statement, because they're all very comparable from a quality standpoint. Now, I do like it a good deal more, but that's just personal preference.

Here is my Limited Match with a Baer SRP, Wilson CQB, and Volkmann Combat Custom, which is more or less what you were comparing it to.

In my opinion, the RRA has a nicer trigger, better action, and certainly more standard features than any of the others. I also think it has the best styling, if that's important. I shoot it more accurately then the Wilson and Volkmann and just as accurately as the Baer. The SRP has the 1.5" accuracy option for an extra $300, while the RRA came with the same guarantee as standard. As far as fit and finish and refinement are concerned, I feel its as good as any of the others and its tighter than all but the Baer, which is about equal.

This is nothing new. I've been talking this 1911 up for years. Maybe I just got a really good one, but its a keeper for sure. I love every single thing about it.

You may find this amusing, but my preference puts it with this company, but than the company above.

Saying that speaks volumes about this RRA, because the other two 1911s are Wilson's top of the line Classic Super Grade and a full house custom build from Infinity, both of which were considerably more expensive than any in the first two photos. I think that shows just how much I like my limited Match, as I consider it as good as 1911s about twice its price. :wow:

I know that RRA doesn't make 1911's anymore but I never knew why.

'Twas my understanding that they got overwhelmed with AR production and got horribly backordered on the 1911s in the process.

I've only fired a RRA 1911 once (should have ordered one at the time). The only claims I can make to their accuracy is that you can shoot the head off a sunflower (weed type) growing behind the target stand at 25 yards with no problem.

I own three Rock Rivers a Basic Carry, Tactical Govt and a Tactical Commander. Best 1911s made IMO.
