But I finally got one! I usually roam the Glock section (G1-Niners club, woot!) because I CCW my G19 everywhere I go. Well, earlier this year I began to closely look at 1911's for just a range/home defense gun. Didn't want anything expensive (Kimber, rings a bell), yet still realiable and attractive.

This is my newest toy/addition, and will be sitting on my bedside table for a long time to come. Range report will be up soon!

Citadel 1911, brand new. I love the front serrations, but these grips will be going VERY soon!! As well as the ambi-safety.

Very cool.

They're built in the Philippines by Armscor and pretty much the same as the old Charles Daly 1911s.

You can see the similarities.:)

Yep, after I read that the same people made RIA, I felt a little better about it. Did about 2 days of research before I went back and picked it up.

I am really considering a Citadel as a range gun, I really don't care for front cocking serrations or beavertails, but at that price I can deal with it.

50 rounds today, zero issues. 5 yrds was about a 3.5-4" grouping, probably because I'm no surgeon with it just yet. Definately going to change the sights soon. So far, this thing is a blast!

sounds like the perfect gun to me... nice buy and nice shooting. i just measured my chest and a 4 inch group hits my kill zone pretty nicely! :nailbiting:

Whats wrong with the grips? I like them, at least by the looks.

I like the grips on my Charles Daly EFS as well, but they're too plain for some, I imagine.

They're not bad, I just want something a little more. Definately keep them for the future, though.
