After spending the last few years upgrading my rifles with the latest "tacticool" rails and optics I decided on a simpler project. I wanted a plain no frills carbine that I could use for plinking and general use. I had a spare BCG in the safe and decided to put together a new KISS carbine around it.

The upper is an A2 16 inch lightweight barrel courtesy of the fine folks at Del-Ton. I almost forgot how light an AR could be. This one is roughly a little over 5 lbs.

For the time being, it's mounted on my Stag M4 lower with a Model 1 Sales 4 pos. stock. The fit is excellent and the finish is a good match, however I will be picking up a stripped Del-Ton lower this spring and eventually mate them together for good.

I haven't shot it yet, but I'm pretty confident that it will be a decent addition to the family.

Looks nice! Refreshing to see a K.I.S.S. rifle.

Looks very good. You'll find that a straight "to the point" rifle will work just as well as any of the "super tactical ninja" rifles, and there's considerably less cost involved. And... as an added benefit... you won't ever need to buy batteries!

My favorite rifle is my old A1.

I like it, and have something similar with magpul handguards and stock. I think they are a great simple upgrade if you stay with the CTR or MOE.
I love 20s.

You got that right! Now I can spend money on ammo for this summer.

I have owned my SP-1 for more than a decade and it shoots and performs as well as my tricked out M4 build, just doesn't have that uber-tacticool factor with its 20" barrel and plain accoutrements.

I'd love to make an A1 upper rifle, I dunno where to find a decent A1 receiver though.

Looks sharp OP!
