I should be able to pick up my Spectre in about a week or so. I currently have a walther p22 but I am not to thrilled with the reliability of it. Every other mag jams and I have to manually rack the slide. I would want to stay south of $500.

Thanks,

liquid

Browning Buckmark? Could either have the original barrel threaded, or get a drop-in replacement already good-to-go for a can.

Browning Buckmark with a TacSol Barrel is what I use, and it's very reliable.

I LOVE my buckmark. I found mine at a Pawn shop for $200 and added the tac sol barrel mentioned above. Total cost was less than $500.
Another great choice would be a Ruger Mark 2 or 3 especially the 22/45 series (The 22/45 has a grip angle like a 1911, whereas the normal Rugers have more of a glock cant) You will have to send it away to get threaded properly. The Tacsol threaded barrels for the Ruger are serialized parts and you have to transfer through an FFL (The Ruger uses the top half as the serialized receiver.) so it will end up being expensive.

You can also get some good use out of a CZ Kadet for a full sized, combat style pistol.

Don't forget to check out the Advantage Arms .22 conversions for the Glock frames.

My most favorite pistol is my Marvel 1911 in .22lr. It's amazing.

The Ruger will be the most quiet though as it has a small ejection port. I don't know if you could really hear the difference, but shooting it side-by-side with the Buckmark I could tell.

Yes I forgot about the Whisper, and I have read good reviews on it although I have personally never seen one. The advantage to the TacSol barrel is the lighter weight. It really makes for a nicely balanced handgun on the Buckmark. If you're still interested in one, check around and you should find them from vendors under $300. But if you can find a Whisper, I think that would be an excellent buy as well. You also have the option of sending off a barrel to get it threaded.

I use a .22 browning buckmark with my spectre. I put a tac sol barrel on it and sold the original on gunbroker. It has been working out like a dream. I love it.

I vote for a Ruger, and send it to CPC (http://www.ct-precision.com/) for threading.

<3 my 22/45's.

Before you give up on the P22, I've read online where some of the older mags had problems like this...

Also, what are you shooting? I know mine hates Wildcat...

As long as I keep it clean, mine eats Winchester and Remington subsonic with no fuss... with a suppressor, the P22 is as silent as you'll find.

The can is slightly (maybe 1/8") larger. It's an AA Prodigy.

Mines a Yankee Hill on a Ruger 22/45 with a Paclite Upper. Shoots anything with no problems. My original host was perhaps the Walther's Nemesis, the Sig Mosquito. The pistol was also horrible I was happy to be rid of it.

I really wanted to like the Sig but I'd not heard one good word about it. I've had no really issues with Ruger. It's more fun to shoot subsonic with the suppressor, just for the Hollywood quiet, but I will get a FTE from time to time. Full power stuff, even golden bullets, I've no trouble.

I have a stainless bull barrel Ruger MkII that I sent to JPGrips.com.
He did an excellent job and his turn around time was like three days. His price is also very reasonable. He runs threading auctions on Gunbroker.
I like this setup because it leaves all functional parts of the gun stock. I never trust changing parts on a gun that runs well to begin with.

How well would a Beretta Neos work for a suppressor host (not hijacking the thread, just giving it a spin)?

I actually forgot I have one of those. Trippy little gun and cheap enough. Controls all funky. Space age looking and would look wicked with a suppressor. I see a project.

My CZ75 tactical with a Kadet upper is great for a suppressor host. It is accurate and very reliable. I also built the 22/45 with a Tac-Sol packlite upper that is pictured with the Kadet. I also have a P-22 that works but doesn't get much use since I put these two together.

Ive been thinking of a .22 suppressor build myself. Cant decide if I should go with an AA kit for my G17 or if I should do a Buckmark or MKIII Tactical Solutions build. Id also use the suppressor on my Sig 522. Thinking of a Gemtech Outback II.

at this point i am leaning towards the tactical solutions upper and a buckmark.

i like the look of this

would the upper work on it?

It's just a Trail-lite barre (http://www.tacticalsol.com/store/pc/viewCategories.asp?idCategory=37)l to replace on the Buckmark. I wouldn't put the $$$ into a stainless Buckmark. Tac Sol barrels are black or brightly colored. I made the mistake of buying the Ruger 22/45 MKIII Hunter with a fluted 6 7/8" stainless upper with fiber optic sights only to replace the upper with the Tac Sol one. Now I have a sweet stainless upper in a case.

You could just get that Buckmark threaded (http://www.tornado-technologies.com/services.html)

I just got an Advantage Arms Kit for my G17 last night. Im thinking of running a Gemtech or AAC on it once I get the money for the can, threaded barrel, and the tax stamp. Id also run the can on my Sig 522.

But, then again, Ive also been thinking of doing a Tac Sol Buckmark build. Decisions, decisions....

And to Liquid, dont waste your money on any Buckmark other then the Camper if your just going to replace the barrel with a Tac Sol one.

I have two P22's and both are suppressed. They run 100% with the new mags and cans on. The extra back pressure seems to help it. They run great! Dont give up on em yet, spend youre extra money on a new can....trust me...they are more addicting than guns.
