45 GAP ballistics

I was just comparing the ballistics of Speer Gold Dot ammunition between the 45 GAP and 45 ACP. The ballistics listed for the GAP were thru a 4" barrel (same as a G38) and the ballistics for the ACP were thru a 5" barrel. The surprise was that GAP has more muzzle energy than the ACP even with the shorter barrel. You have to go into the ACP+P before it can finally beat the GAP.

In a week or so I hope to get my chrono running. I have some various 45ACP and GAP loads to run through. No Gold Dot however. I will post my results. The 4 inch vs. 5 inch GAP vs. ACP is very interesting.
