just an update
the more I shoot this gun, the more I like it.
I was shooting over the weekend and let a guy shoot it that has a Kimber 9mm, he was very, very impressed with it and now wants one.
Said it had a much better trigger and was softer shooting.

It's a tackdriver.

I have a very nice Springfield loaded stainless with some work done to it.
it's a solid gun with a very good trigger, Dawson sights, etc.. but I can tell you the Wilson is such a more refined, precisely made gun, it's quite obvious.

I love it!

My experience has been quite the same. I really like the actual pistol, I just hate the name. An excellent, very accurate pistol that has ate everything I have fed it to date.

Congrats on the gun.

Is this gun really considered a 1911 just wondering:dunno:

yeah, it's a 1911
well, I guess since it's not a 5" steel 45, it's not a "true" 1911 spec
the barrel lockup is more like a sig

and the frame is polymer
I don't get hung on the details personally
if you like how a nice 1911 shoots, the feel, the trigger, etc.. you will like shooting this

Good looking gun. That's cool that you got to go hunting with Bill.

Here are a couple pics. One of the pistol, one of the test target (pretty impressive 5-shot group) and one of the target after my first mag shot through the pistol. It took a couple shots to adjust to the way it shot, but the rest of the mag went pretty well. This pistol is a shooter, that is for sure.

I like the looks of it, but I wouldn't pay that much money for a gun that has a hard time finding a holster, only one or two sources for mags, and is polymer. Having said that, if it were to go down in price, I would consider it for a range gun.

it fits standard 1911 holsters fine, I have tested with numerous of them.

Yup....sure does. I have been carrying mine every day in a Nossar IWB III or a Brommeland MaxCon V. It fits in all of my Gov't Holsters and most of my Commander holsters. Holsters are not an issue at all.

That was my big question about them, would they fit in a commander sized holster.

Does anyone have a comparison pic to a standard commander? Just curious.

I don't have a standard commander, but here is a comparison with a full sized Wilson and a Wilson Professional (4"). Also, here is a picture of the Spec Ops 9 in a Brommeland Max Con V for a Commander.

That will work. Not sure if I like thickness of the grip for carry but I sure do love my KZ-9 so I might have to pick one of these up eventually.

It is really not as bad as it looks. More along the lines of carrying a Glock 19 with a little more weight.

here's a pic of the frame before it gets the polymer treatment

it's stiff
