Nice, congrats.

Yeah, I'm heading to my gun dealer tomorrow morning to drop off one of my 1911's to get some sights installed.

I just got my tax return too, so I'm going to try to avoid temptation and be responsible since my dealer is big into 1911's and he always has some pretty tempting 1911 deals every time I stop by. My gun dealer is the devil.

Ho hum, yet another 1911...

Yeah, seen one, you've seen them all.

Very nice gun. I hope to have one someday. I'm careful to leave my wallet in the car when I go into the only shop around here that usually has one or two in stock. I usually regain my self-discipline on the walk out to the car for my ID and $$.

I didn't realize you sold your other Kobra Carry.

Thanks folks.

I've said all this before, but I really am impressed with the level of detail that goes into an Ed Brown. I think it is easier to see what you're paying for in a $2000+ semi-custom Brown than it's closest competitors. I am not saying they are better guns, but that cosmetically they are very well done. My basis for comparisons has included Wilson Combat and Springfield Armory Customshop in addition to EB. My first Les Baer will be in next week hopefully, so it'll be fun to compare the two newcomers.

Nice pistola. I know what you mean by "they keep showing up". I have a '43 Ithaca 1911A1 coming in next week. Bac, you will like this one. Finish is not original. It has been reparked and has a new unissued HS barrel installed. Pics will be up later next week. This will make #28 now.

I like the wide safety.

If you're referring to the manual thumb safety, it is actually a lot slimmer than the pic's must suggest. I usually jettison the ambi's, but this is the first one I may keep, as it's profile is very unobtrusive, and this particular pistol has a remarkable positive engagement. I gotta' say, this pistol just "feels right". It's on my side as I type right now.

Still looking for a set of grips like you had on the Kobra. I need to
e-mail Esmeralda and see if she will make a set, currently none are in stock.

Nice looking Kobra Carry. Why are some Kobra Carry pistols engraved on the left side with "Kobra Carry" and "Custom by Ed Brown" on the right side of the slide, while others only have "Kobra Carry" engraved on the slide's right side?

I believe mine are examples of the older style. I think the ones engraved on both sides are the current version.

Different years of production.

Very true.

Brown always had them engraved on both sides two versions ago.
