Scope for .30-06

I am considering a Nikon Buckmasters 3-9x40 to put on my .30-06 for whitetail deer hunting in North Alabama. Few if any shots over 200 yards. Is that a good combination and how do you rate the Buckmasters for quality?

Nikon optics are exellent and should be well suited for your application good hunting!

I got the Buckmasters. Found it on Ebay for $174. Have mounted it on my '06 but haven't had a chance to sight it in yet. Hopefully will have some nice weather soon so I can get it done.
