Has anyone tried the VZ Operator grips?
Looking at giving these a try, picking up a set of slim VZ Operators in Black Desert Sand.

I'm thinking about one of these for my new KC, obviously converted to bobtail:

I have the normal VZ G10 desert sand on my Wilson CQB in .40 ... love em.

The rest of my 1911s have VZ operators of some variant. Even have a few golfballed pairs.

I have a pair of VZ Operator II's that are awesome. The fit and finish is great and they are definitely grippy. I liked them so much that I ordered some VZ Gators and some VZ Aliens to try out.

VZ G10s are what come OEM on the SA TRP right? I'm a fan of those so I'd feel pretty confident in trying a pair of operators

I think the stock grips on the TRP are Mil Tac's. But ther VZ Operators have a similar feel.

Those are great grips. They were nice on my CBOB. I just actually prefer the VZ G10 double diamonds better.

i have 3 pair,
your 1911 WILL NOT slip out of your hands.
I really like them, good people to do business with and would recommend them.

Also, you might want to invest in the little rubber 0 rings/screw rings they sell, they will keep the grips in place.

I tried a set of fancy rattlesnake grips once. When shooting a bunch of rounds, the surface of the grips was to tough on my hands. One of nice features of the grips on my Defender is they are smoother but somehow give me a good grip.

That might also come from the checkering & grooves in the front and rear of the frame.

I liked my VZ's alot. They give a great grip that will never shift in your hand. I gave mine to a friend when I decided I liked smooth grips better.

OP-I have a half dozen or so pairs of VZ grips. I like them a lot. Never had a problem with a 1911 slipping after I picked my VZs

I guess I am boring. I just prefer the standard hogue rubber grips on my pistols(mostly 1911 and CZ's). I kept trying to talk myself into the VZ or some exotic woods because they definitely give your pistol a step up in the wow factor but practically the hogues provide great purchase without hitting the bank account. Being on sale at Midway for 15-16 dollars also kept me grounded. Also as boring as it is having the same grip on multiple pistols makes it easier to transition from one to the other.

VZ slim black paper grips on my RIA. I prefer the thinner profile with my hand size, and with the checkering front and rear, good grip without grabbing my suit jackets and such. But I would like to try VZ's in a "grippier" pattern just to see.
