UNIDENTIFIED FIRING OBJECTS.
Stopped by the nearest gun shop to me while I was down the hill today and as usual the place was packed with customers. The shop doesn't really gouge but it's not like their prices are all that great.
Was walking to the used pistol case to check out new arrivals when something strange caught my eye... three full shelves of something I thought I'd never see... primers. Not just a couple of bricks of small rifle or large rifle but shelves of those plus small and large pistol plus magnum of both.
Gone was the sign warning of only one brick per customer, in it's place were brown unopened cartons of primers plus a full shelf of bricks exposed to the world in all their glory. Counting the unopened cartons and the first row of bricks, they were several rows deep, there were over, well over a hundred and fifty thousand. I've never been in the place in over a year when they had more than six or seven bricks.
The prices aren't great but for someone who can't buy in bulk on-line and only wants 1 or 2 bricks $32.95 certainly isn't gouging. This was for Federal and CCI.
For anyone in the denver area they're at Green Mountain Guns, on Wadsworth just north of 285, in Lakewood.
Things seem to be getting better.
Jack
This is like the Soviet Union. The shoe store gets shoes in, size 6. 1,000 pairs of them and everyone is overjoyed. This country has really gone in the crapper when a shortage of something can go on for over a year.
So tell me how many primers does it take to fill the bed of your truck? :whistling:

Don't you have a room that needs to be painted? Get to work, slacker. (Blue or pink?) :dunno:

Crap, I'm gonna give Powder Valley their phone number, Jack. Maybe I can get my dang order filled and on the way. :steamed:
Yeah..... but what we REALLY want to know is what CAUSED that primer shortage, Jack ??
:whistling:

Henceforth let it be known and recorded thatREAL MEN shoot with percussion caps, flints and black powder, whereas lesser men shoot with primers and smokeless powder.
I shall leave you all to your on devices to determine in which category you fall.
May lands reverberate with the sounds of CLANK, WHOOSH, BANG!
Your humble... and modest servant... :whistling:

Those not experienced in the manly art of flintlock shooting would not be versed in the sounds of a rock scratcher.
I guess you must be one of those foo-foo gun shooters. :poke:

You're doing better than ol' Bob... it's CLANK, not CLICK.
Learn how to knapp flints or it's going to cost you a lot of money... unless you buy a hundred at a time they run about 75 cents apiece.
Blue is better than pink... with blue you only have to worry about one pee-pee... with pink you have to worry about them all!
Congratulations :highfive:

There is a certain pathology to these threads. I can't put my finger on it, but it's definatley there.
BTW, Jack is starting to remind me of the old cliche' of the retired general in the wheelchair who wears his uniform everyday and goes about with a swagger stick talking on and on about how they have to be prepared to take the fight to the enemy in the (Crimean) war while the family gathers around the table for Thanksgiving dinner.

As any self respecting smokepole shooter will tell you, its Clank-Bang. Otherwise yer overloadin your pan, you are using that crappy synthetic powder, or yer lock just sucks.
Carry on

Yeah, Jack! Stop causing so much trouble. Those red presses have definitely caused some pathology funk. :kidding:
