just got done helping my friend with his mil-spec.
we did the following:
10-8 trigger
Kimber ambi (he's a lefty)
Ed Brown bushing
trigger job.
cut the slide stop down.
installed a flat MSH
removed ILS

he decided on the flat trigger after shooting my 1911's and the stock mil-spec trigger.

I've never shot a flat trigger. It looks interesting, though.

That is a sharp looking 1911. You did good.

i had fun doing it and my friend is very happy with it now compared to what is was NIB.

my other friend that was recently converted to 1911's just ordered one on friday. :rofl:

Nice job quack. But why no beavertail and commander hammer? That would so complete that gun IMO.

because he hasn't decided on what he wants to do yet.
he's thinking about doing this, but i think a beavertail would look better.

my friend finally took his mil-spec to the range after the above work and here's what he had to say

The flat trigger and sear worked paid off wonderfully. The pull is quick without any creep, and the break is clean! New, lighter, mainspring and tighter barrel bushing helped and kept the grouping tighter. And the new flat mainspring housing also helped my grip and I got back on target quicker.

i haven't looked at Colts, but i would get a 70 Series Colt.
hmmmm...maybe i should pick up a Colt to modify since i don't own one yet :cool:

I like it! Finish is great and as you can see, I a like spur hammer and solid trigger over the skeltonized types. :)

Great job. Nice to see more pistols with the 10-8 flat trigger. All my 1911 pattern pistols have one.
