My boss is going to duracoat my 870 this weekend. I wanted matte black, but he says that it scratches easily and that I should go with the HK semi-gloss black. I haven't found any bad reviews of the matte black, and don't want a glossy gun but I'm looking for a little advice. Thanks.

matte blk/hkblk...realistically about the same....my advise is to give the final product a coating of matte clear when the duracoat is dried. I am a fan of Krylon for this. It will protect your Duracoat and is damn flat.

After seeing both in the flesh this morning, I'm going to have to completely disagree with you. Huge difference in sheen. Doesn't really matter now though since I decied to go with Parker Gray. Thanks anyway!

Side by side - way different. By itself - black. The only issue is shine. But the HK black is damn sexy!

Krylon will take the little bit of gloss right off those. And add extra protect.
