No more PTA moms pushing those guys around!

They're being delivered to their office in downtown Chicago. I wonder how Richie likes that. :tongueout:

Quote from the columnist:

"I asked department officials for specific examples of when the rifles might be used,...."

Another well informed journalist.

Hmmmm.....I wonder if backing up fellow officers falls under the scope of their duties? I wonder if that duty is dangerous? I wonder if the article's author needed help, if she'd want one of those officers there to help her, with his shotgun?

GFY Valerie Strauss.

Journalist is probably trying for the shock factor.
Any other branch of law enforcement requesting new shotguns
would not even garner a response, but being the department
has Education in the title some people would think teachers
and schools will be getting the 870's.
With all the money being, excuse me "Pissed Away", by our
local, state, and federal government, this to me is a minor
expenditure.
Yesterday a program on cable news which is exposing
waste of stimulus money did a story of a major American
city spending about $250,000 dollars to study the effects
of cigarette smoking on the homeless.
The Idiots are running the asylum.

They already are tazing students, so lets say some hardened kid refuses to eat his school lunch. Well you whip out the old 870 and smoke him.

Every school needs these to replace detention hall.

The real problem exposed here, IMO, is the growth of federal law enforcement. Seems like just about every federal agency now has a LE component, whether they need it or not.
