:crying:

Went to Wally world to see if they got any bulk .22 in stock. Had a few available, What I really noticed was the remington and federal bulk(550) went from $16.47 to $18.47. I thought ammo prices were stable for awhile. Wonder why they are going up with demand dropping back and material prices coming down.

Thanks

Federal 550 and Winchester 333 have stayed consistent at Wally Worlds around here. I won't shoot rem GBs anymore.

Still $15.47 here... you may be in a test-market for higher prices.

Don't buy any! That way, the price will not go up for the rest of us!

Old stock is still being sold at the cheaper price, I believe once they receive some new stock the price will change. The Federal bulk is reported to have changed to $18.97.

It went up in my neck of the woods also. Same price. At least it is the Federal bulk 550 packs. I have shot 8 boxes of the federal with zero bad rounds. Alot of people have complained, but I have only had lots of trouble with winchester and remington.

I only bought two boxes at the new price. (this is an attempt to prevent the backlash from other forum posters who would claim I am driving up the price)

I buy one bulk box of Fedreral 550 every time we go there to get our groceries.

That's 4 boxes a month.

I haven't worried about the price or availability of bulk 22 ammo for some time now.

I just don't understand why some folks don't plan ahead.

I just bought a brick of Remington .22LR ammo at Dick's for $19.99.

Yeah -- I could get .22 ammo at Wal-Mart for $15 and change -- but I'd just as likely spend 5 bucks in gas money driving to Wally World to keep finding that they're out of .22 ammo...

all ammo has gone up!

That's what I've read, and I was at Wal-Mart only two days ago. Looks like I'll have to run up there tonight and buy some Federal 550 bulk if it's still at that price.

While the Wally World didn't have any rimfire bulk ammo here, they did have the increased prices for them in their normal places. $18.97 for Federal & Winchester. Last week they were $15.47...

I didn't make it to Wal-Mart two nights ago but stopped by late yesterday afternoon.

The 550-round Federal went up $2, so I passed on buying any.

If we could start a word-of-mouth boycott for one month ammo prices would come down across the board.

Luckily I purchased a few thousand rounds of .22 about 6 years ago, and I haven't shot any of it yet.

LOL . . . Get out there and shoot those suckers.

I need to look into bulk packages. Wonder where I can find some Rem Golden Bullets in the San Francisco Bay Area? I only shoot CCI Mini Mags and Fiocchi high velocity 40 gr. plated rounds.

Have you got a Dick's Sporting Good in your area?

They had quite a few Remington Golds at my local store.

Its now 18.97 for Federal bulk. Winchester 555 is 19.97. Winchester 9mm Value pack is 23.97. WTF! I knew I should have bought when I saw some there a few weeks ago.

SNAP! Just hit us here in my area in FL. Bad luck caught up to us. Went to WM today and saw all the prices as you all described. Just a matter of time, like everything else. Well, at least we have socialized (...or "universal", "government subsidized", "free", "national"....whatever) health care now.

Funny- everything but my paycheck is going up......:crying:

My local Bi-mart (a Pacific NW chain) still sells the Federal Bulk 555 packs for $16.90, even new stock. I am thinking Walmart's price increase mybe just in tehir own stores.

For last month's Basic Pistol Class, I handed out the Remington bulk from Dick's Sporting, and that's the last time I use that stuff. So many duds!
Back to Federal and American Eagle......

Man -- I didn't want to hear that! I just bought a bulk pack of those Remingtons a couple of weeks back.

I guess I'll just burn them up in a hurry...

Amen......I think the worst is yet to come regarding ammo availability. It seems like Obama is going on a tear and I expect, especially with the news about domestic terrorists and guns, for the situation to worsen. If it is available, I'd stock up.

My local gun shop owner told me that one of the main reasons why ammo prices went up is that brass has become less available. He said this is due to the earthquake in Chile. Brass is one of Chile's main exports. When the earthquake hit they shut down all of their mines for quite some time. Hopefully they will back up and running at full speed soon.

Even if brass becomes more readily available I dont believe we will see a price reduction. I think these prices are here to stay. The rule of supply and demand is in full effect. In the past 2 years the number of gun owners has sky-rocketed. This leads to more demand for ammo, thus increasing its price. I wish it wasnt true but I believe it is, these prices are here to stay.

I hope the trend is downward on ammo prices. The companys are making a killing at this point. Material demand and prices are down.

They may not be making a killing. For one, people have reduced their buying of ammo and guns considerably in the past few months, and just because material demand and prices have come down as of late, we don't know what they paid for the stuff when they made the ammo that is now on the shelf.

It could take weeks for us to realize the lower prices of material they might be seeing now. Months, if takes a while to move current inventory at current prices.

Blazer 500 pk is 14.99.

Its all so random! No Federal bulk packs here anymore. Golden Bullets now come in 100rd plastic trays, not bulk boxes. The best thing going are the Winchester 333rd boxes which are just under $12. They shoot pretty well.

Just picked up Federal 550 (lightnings) for 14.97/500 at Wally world in S. FL and I bought all they had, within the 6 box limit.
