I have the money, and the desire. But it seems to me that the FFL that i am dealing with is just plain lazy. I called him two days ago to place the order and, today he tells me that he is waiting for them to call him to place the order... :/ Is this typical? This is my first time placing a custom order, so i am wondering if i should find somewhere else to deal with. or if i should just be patient since it will take 12-16 weeks anywho...
and its the CQC45 emerson package with combat night sights + the 1 1/2 guarantee. you better believe pics will be shown.:)

contact George at www.migunslingers.com he'll fix you up.
he'll probably have a better price than your FFL as well.

:agree:
There's not too many things in the gun world I'm more confidently recommend than this.

To answer your question, that is NOT normal, that is why everyone is telling you to go elsewhere, if it takes someone that long to place an order, I would not trust them

just a guess, but maybe because your FFL doesn't buy a many guns from Baer and gets better pricing when he buys in quantity, thus increasing his profit?
:dunno:

only your FFL can answer the question though.

I refuse to do business with anyone I have to practically beg to spend my money in their store......Order it from one of the online dealers suggested and save yourself the sales tax. It is very simple and you will not pay retail price or sales tax....adds up to a couple hundred bucks.....

I saved around $300 ordering my Baer from Sporting Arms. Half of that was from the sales tax. Sporting Arms, Proload and George at www.migunslingers.com are all well recommended. All have Baer's on order all the time so the wait should be shorter, good luck.

ETA; I just noticed you are in Texas so I would think if you buy from Sporting Arms you will still have to pay the sales tax. Give John at Proload a call, he's a hell of a nice guy.

That's for sure! I knew him when we was actually running a store in Post Falls, Idaho. He always had great stuff (especially Les Baers), but there was no such thing as a "quick stop". He always had a story about something. Great guy though, and always my first choice when buying a Baer.

Specific to the OP's original question, your dealer is jerking you around. either they have no buying power and can't find one to order, or they just have no idea what they're doing. I'd order from ProLoad and have it shipped to your dealer for the transfer to you. It will also likely save you paying sales tax.

Probably legit. On getting a price, usually by e-mail it can take a couple of days.

I have a link to someone that has it in stock and your gunshop can get it from them. At Davidsons gallery of guns they have them in stock. You can put in your zip code and they will quote 3 local shops with prices in your area, you can have it in 2 days if you want. No 12-16 weeks wait.

I do not doubt that Proload, Sporting Arms and Gunslinger's are the best sources for Baer Pistols. But here are some in stock.
