SF and Gen4 trigger pulls

My 21sf and Gen IV G-22 (Which is basically an SF model), both have heavier trigger pulls than my other Glocks. The Gen 4 is actaully very dissapointing to me measuring an average of over 6.5# on purchase (no NY connector or spring) and still 5.5# and not real sweet with a 3.5 connector installed and light polish. All of my other Glocks that have a had a little fluff and buff and 3.5/4.5 connector are in the 4.5# range.

Is there something about the Gen4/SF internals that keep the trigger pulls from being as light as the other models, or just bad luck of the draw on my part both times?

There sure is! The new style trigger bars feature more "kick up" on the cruciform. This gives them a full 100%+ engagement in the striker leg. More engagement translate to more trigger pull.

Thanks JR, well at least it was not just me.

Anything to be done about it for a home spring changer such as myself, Guru such as yourself? or just the nature of the design that those guns will always need to have a bit heavier trigger pull.

Try changing out the following springs:
