View Full Version : input on laser rangefinders???
does anyone have any experience or input on laser rangefinders? i have read a lot of reviews on the web (cabela's, optics planet, midway), and am leaning toward the nikon monarch gold 1200.
any info or advice is appreciated!
I have a Leica 1200 LRF and I think it's a great deal. There is a lighter more compact version out now.
I'm sure the Nikon is good since they make solid products.
I have the Leupold RX 600. I like it a lot and for me it's perfect. Very accurate on animals out to about 400 yds. Beyond that you need to range something bigger near by.
I also use it for archery season. It's a must for me since I use a crossbow with a graduated scope and the correct distance is key to making the shot.
Two things about this range finder. It does NOT have an illuminated reticle or read out. In low light it is very difficult to use. It also will not calculate angle distances automatically. You'll need to convert in your head. I think the RX750 does both of those for about $80 more.
