View Full Version : Will a Airsoft scope be o.k. for a .22?
I'm thinking of adding an Optic for my SIG 522 the current offerings of rimfire scopes don't interest me too much, i was hoping i could use a Airsoft scope- my rational is the small recoil of .22 especially in a rifle form would make airsoft o.k. for use
anyone have any pros or cons?

Should work fine, so long as you don't knock it around.
My 10/22 is wearing a comparable $40 Tasco Red-Dot from Walmart, never a problem.

Yep-
Perfect. I have a Leapers mil dot one one of my S&W M&P 15-22s, Like this: http://www.amazon.com/Leapers-Golden-Image-Estimating-Mil-Dot/dp/B000FX301S/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1270687416&sr=8-5
I love it, and for 23 bucks.......???? C'Mon!!!! :dancingbanana::dancingbanana:
I had a $40 42MM BSA red dot given to me as a gift. I wanted a red dot on my Ruger Super Redhawk .44 mag.
It lasted 3 rounds before the glass broke. I sent it back into BSA under warranty and they replaced it for free. I put the replacement on my TC Contender .22LR barrel. That was 9 years ago and thousands of rounds of .22 LR.
It looks like they are still making the same sight, $44.99 at Optics Planet.
Cheap red dots are fine on plinking .22's.
I am using an airsoft G&P Aimpoint clone and it holds up just fine on my Sig 522.
I just purchased a primary arms micro dot gen 2 with optional riser for my SW mp15-22 and love it. I put 500 rounds through it today. It is an outstanding piece of equipment. It has great reviews but is around $100 total.
thanks for the help, i ended up going for a different scope , but it was on sale at a good price
