Just got my PM9 - looking for 2 holsters for it.

I need a pocket holster and IWB holster. What's everyone using?

Pics are very helpful, especially while wearing.

Anyone?

Tks.

I never use pocket holster, so no input. But as for IWB:

* Mitch Rosen Clipper.. $60 ish from Kahr shop..
* HBE Pro-TL (tuckable).. $110, 8 weeks wait.

I have both for my PM9, love them both. Pic? here they are: http://forums.1911forum.com/showpost.php?p=2435856&postcount=406

I like this one, works well in work or casual jacket pockets made to put your hands in, trouser front pockets, or jeans hip pockets.

Galco horsehide pocket holster (http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPG3.asp?ProductID=2956&GunID=277)

This iwb is made for the K9, and because of the friction between the holster and the PM9's finish (not to mention the slide stop pin tab) it's a little difficult (well TOO difficult for me, given my "enhanced girth") to stick the gun into the holster while the holster is in place. There's no problem with the PM9's being a half inch shorter, it fits fine. But I always stick the gun in the holster, then fit the holster in place, and I don't like doing that because I'm afraid I'm going to shoot myself in the gut. I rarely use an iwb, but I think this one is the best design, in terms of the belt clip. Doesn't work with wide belts, of course, but it's fine for the sort you'd wear with a suit.

Galco "USA" iwb (http://www.usgalco.com/HolsterPG3.asp?ProductID=1758&GunID=67)

You didn't ask, but this is a favorite of mine for the PM9; in fact, I also use it when carrying a K9 or a T9, though there's no protection for the end of the slide and barrel.

Good info guys, thank you, but can someone explain to me how the "shirt tuckers" work? Where do you tuck your shirt in and does it still leave the holster's clip exposed?

BuckeyeBlast,

I would try Crossbreed QwikClip IWB. I have one for my
PM9. Good Luck

I use a Mika pocket holster with mine - see
http://www.frontiernet.net/~akim/pocket.htm

Picture of same for J frame - he makes them to fit your specific gun. He can customize them for lasers, etc.

"how the "shirt tuckers" work?"

Here is a typical one. The shirt goes between the clip bracket and the holster main body. The clip is still exposed, but should be the same color as the belt, so it's not conspicuous. Some makers can provide narrow clips covered in blue denim to look like a belt loop.

I carry my MK9 in an AHolster, strong side. Works great in cargo shorts or slack. Not good for jeans, jean pockets are cut higher making the draw very hard. But the gun is still invisible and comfortable.

I also have a Crossbreed Quick Clip that is only OK, but I should bought a SuperTuck instead. The QC likes to tilt when worn and digs in my side after a few hours. My G26 and G30 are 100% comfortable for all day wear with my SuperTuck.

Here is a picture of my High Noon Hidden Alley Tuckable. You can tuck your shirt in and still pull it out some to hide the belt clip if wanted, as you can with any tuckable. Also you can wear your cellphone right there to help hide it. I like this holster because the PM9 that I have in it rides lower and doesn't print as easy as some. This holster is $38.00 plus shipping. I would also like to try the Crossbreed Minituck but a little too much money for me! They show it on kahr.com.

Sorry Chance!! That is a High Noon holster with a Full Moon belly! It is the OP's fault because he asked for pictures. You got to be careful what you ask for around here. Hope your daughters and dog recuperate.

I do not use pocket holsters since I find pocket carry to be unsafe.

For IWB carry of my PM40 I use a Galco Stow-N-Go holster. It is easy to put in place and easy to remove. It also holds the firearm very securely.

I sometimes just carry it in a Don Hume OWB holster if I am wearing a vest of hoodie.

Just curious PP - why do you feel pocket carry is unsafe if the gun is in a proper holster and nothing else is kept in the pocket?

(the only way I'll carry is in a holster condusive to a good draw that covers the trigger, holding the gun upright, and in a pocket dedicated to the gun)

Because people have a tendancy to place there hands in their pockets without thinking...and unless you are wearing tight pants (which most do not when pocket carrying) the gun can shift around. I have seen pocket holsters that seemed to be very secure completely flip upside down inside a pocket during daily activity. And this was in a pocket not much larger than the holster.

Gotcha. Yeah, under those conditions I see what you mean. I currently carry my LCP in a Nemisis holster and it stays put wearing jeans or jean type khaki's.

BuckeyeBlast,
When I carry my PM9, the Nemesis pocket holster seems fine. Nothing shifts.

For the second holster, I know that you wrote IWB, not OWB. But I agree with PlayboyPenguin in his positive appraisal of the Don Hume Yaqui Slide. (Although I did have to "wet mold" it to allow a good draw stroke.)
