What size dutch oven were you using. I don't have a cast iron dutch yet but this looks like a good reason to go buy one!!! We only have 4 cast iron frying pans and a cast iron kamal that my wife uses for making tortillas on. Tasty, very tasty! To bad they don't last around here. If I try the bread maybe I should get a 12 Quart dutch.
My stove top DO is a Lodge 5qt. It is not a camp oven which has legs and a flanged lid. Although you could put your camp oven in your home oven; the legs slip between the wire rack. If you check out the website, you can see that the author uses a cast iron casserole dish. Im not sure of what size they use, but I might get a chance to see it in person later this summer. HTH  BTW, I like your Alamo pic, I used to live in SA as a kid.
Thanks for the info. I will have to invest in a DO soon. We have a good outlet mall here where I may be able to locate one. I know the one kitchen store there carries quite a bit of the Lodge stuff. And on the side, my pic is from last summer when we went to SA on vacation. Loved it and am actually looking at relocating sometime next year. Currently we are in Las Vegas and the public schools overall in NV are in serious need of help. With 4 little ones we need to set up camp elsewhere. I see you are from CO. Me and my wife were born and raised in Denver, Actually born at the same hospital, St. Anthony. Do you do much hunting?
Sadly I do not hunt much besides the occasional prairie dog and paper. Growing up my family was more in to fishing than hunting. I would like to go Elk or Deer hunting. I just don't have anybody experienced to go with except my neighbor who is too old now. I live about four blocks form St. Anthony's North.
I recently got a larger dutch oven so I could put a loaf pan in there to make taller sandwich friendly no need bread....Awesome!
Cool! Do you have any pictures of your bread and the Dutch oven?

Never thought about doing bread in the DO.
My stove top DO is a Lodge 5qt. It is not a camp oven which has legs and a flanged lid.
Flip the lid over and it's flanged. Reduces the volume slightly and doesn't grow feet, though.
Bread!
