I have a RRA UTE ar15 which is like a flat top rifle with a permanent rear sight. I need to know how tall a riser do I need to mount a TA33 ACOG? Thanks for any help.

First you have to decide weather you want to co-witness the sights or lower 1/3 co witness. Do you have the sight and rifle already?

I have the rifle but the ACOG is in the mail. I did not think co-witness was possible with a 4X optic. I was worried about clearing the non-removeable rear sight. With only 1.5 inch eye relief I may have trouble mounting it far enough back on the rifle to use. Thanks, Dave.

That sounds like a tough nut to crack. You will have to mount the scope and see if you can get the propper eye relief regardless of how high you raise the scope. If you can get the eye relief. Larue makes a couple of great mounts for the ACOG that raise it up to get over your FSB/Rear sight delema The problem becomes your irons are useless to you unless you remove the Acog at that point. The other way to look at it is you can run a conventional scope with high scope rings or an Aimpoint with a tall mount.

UPDATE-- Acog arrived and I would need 1-1.5 inch riser to clear the rear sight. Looking for flatop upper.
