Glock Malfunction?

I put a round in the chamber of a Glock 20 and dropped the slide. The extractor was left stuck out fully extended and the trigger would not pull. I had to disassemble the slide and remove the extractor to clear the malfunction. The gun will feed just fine from the magazine but will malfunction when dropped on a round in the chamber every time. What part is actually failing? What do I replace to remedy this?

DO NOT DROP THE SLIDE ON A ROUND IN THE CHAMBER! The ejector can/will chip, crack, break. It was not designed to extend past the case rim.
If you want the maximum round count: Insert the mag, strip a round into the chamber, drop the mag and top it off, reload the mag and you are good to go.
