View Full Version : What's wrong with hand loads?
I was looking at lone wolf barrels and saw that using hand and reloads voids the warranty. I've also seen other non-specific negative things said about reloads.
I recently bought a Glock 20 SF and due to the cost and difficulty in finding 10mm ammo decided I'd learn to hand load. Am I making a mistake?
Hand loading is an American Heritage. All shooters should, "at least know" how to reload. If ammunition supplies ever dried up your reloading skills would keep you going!
The problem with reloading is that "you" are in control. This is both a good and a bad thing. You control the amount of powder, crimp, primer, bullet.... You control every aspect of the loaded round. If you make a mistake.... you pay the penalty. If you build a double digit go faster round and blow the barrel ... Its your baby! If your super soft steel load produces a squib and you blow the barrel with a follow up round.... Its your baby again.
LWD makes the point up front, we will not be held responsible for your mistakes.
Thanks, I was hoping that was the answer, and not some other inherent problem with reloading.
