With my 3 x 9 Leupold VariX II, I have sufficient eye relief to get a total sight picture when on 3. As I move it up to about 6x, I begin to get less than a total sight picture. This causes me to have to strain my head forward when on 9x. The other mfgs scopes seem to be about the same. I have the scope all the way back in mount, as close to my eye as possible.
Are there any scopes that have 5" eye relief instead of the usual 4 1/2? I shouldn't have to adjust my stance to fit the scope, the sight picture should be there for a normal stance.
