Primer identification help

Since my local BassPro only tapes one side of the primer case when they sell them by the 100ct sometimes they spill out. When this happens you never know about it until you get home. Thank god I noticed.

So I bought Federal Champion small pistol primers which are yellow colored inside. I ended up with about (8) of the primers that are yellow with the red in the center. Can anyone help me out and tell me what I've won in the primer lotto I didn't want to enter?

The majority of them are the yellow ones on the left. The 8 odd ones are the red ones on the right. They are the same size as the SP primers so I'm guessing either SP Magnum or Small Rifle.

CCI Small Pistol primers have red colored media between the metal fingers.
So you got 8 good primers and 92 Federal Small pistol primers? Just Kidding.

Sorry I can't help with the identification, but I can not believe a store would do this.:wow: Completely negligent on their part. I would certainly never buy primers there again. Good thing you were observant enough to notice. I would have just loaded them.

I have CCI SP and Federal Small Pistol MATCH/Gold Medal. Neither have the red dot.

What you really have is 25 cents worth of trash. My next step would be to go down to my local supplier that sold them with the whole 1000 and make them swap me out. They are running a liability issue here that they darn sure don't want to deal with.

If no go with them then a call to Corporate is in order. About the time you put a LP primer behind 74 grains of IMR4350 and a 250 grain bullet in a 358 Norma Mag case and try to shot the elk of your lifetime it would all become way to clear for you.
