I'm planning to buy a Sig P229 in .357 auto when I go back to the Philippines later this year.

Pero tanong ko lang po sana, hindi ba ako mahihirapan maghanap ng bala ng .357 sig sa Pilipinas? Marami na bang gunstore nagbebenta nito?

How durable is a Sig P229 in .357 auto?

How much does a new Sig P229 cost in the Philippines?

Thank you.

I have the 229 in .40. Bnew is around 80k.

No experience yet with the .357sig but I think it uses the same nags as the .40. All you need is a 357sig barrel and you have a dual caliber gun. I might be wrong though.

I know a couple of stores that have .357 auto ammo, PB dionisio and twin pines.

I would suggest you evaluate which ammo is most common in the country where you will have the pistol. I believe the most practical caliber in the Philippines for the Sig P226 is 9mm.

So if one has a firearm chambered for a 357 sig, one can easily swap 40 cal and 357 sig ammo through it and gun will accept? Are there any problems associated with this that one should be aware of?

Changing a 357 Sig to 40 SW and vice versa is just a barrel change. Have not encountered any problem.

To the OP, why 357 Sig?

Sir, is the .40 cal barrel you are using in your Sig P229 also made by Sig? Which guns store in the Philippines did you buy this barrel for the .40 cal? I'm also interested to have a .40 cal barrel for my future Sig P229. Thank you

If you reload you can swage a 40 to 357.
We have a BOG member who swages a 40S&W to 357sig.
