This place is hard to beat on price and I've seen quite few folks post on Bladeforums about ordering from them with no issues.

Buy a Kershaw Outcast instead. It will take reprofiling to optimize it, as the factory edge is disgusting. Once you have a long tapered convex edge on it, the utility and value double.
The two blades aren't on the same shelf. You can get an Outcast new in the 60-65$ range, and to the best of my knowledge it's the best deal anywhere on a 10" D2 steel blade.
I'm not a cold steel hater and own 3 Outcasts, a Smatchett, a Case XX Bowie, a Becker Patrol Machete and a dozen 10-12" cutlery knives.
Big blades aren't unknown to me. If you really need a utility machete, not a knife, buy a Gerber Gator, 25$. The saw teeth actually work on that model. If you want maximum chop per stroke, get a Junglee short sword (14.5" blade, AUS 8, 100$ +/-
If all you want is a big cheap blade, I've got a 30$ Schrade giant bowie. approx 14" blade & home made antler handle, sick of looking at it.
Or, save your money for a real hand made HI kukhri.. not wrong. CS is.
Guys, thanks.
Since I posted this just a while ago, a friend dropped by and told me he got one from Amazon for $47 and change. I went there and ordered one.
Amazing how stuff falls together.
Spl thanks to Richard Simmonds for this: "This place is hard to beat on price and I've seen quite few folks post on Bladeforums about ordering from them with no issues.

ALSO: mitch, that Gerber suggestion is a good one and I am going to look into it.
Thanks again.

1. Have done biz with Tomar. Great experience.
2. Mitch - convex???? CONVEX???? First - wow. For a stone-guy, I'm surprised. Second - how the heck do you convex a D2 knife???? That's gotta take a while.
