I do not want to throw it out!

Wife says to throw it out!

But, I can not just put it into the trash.

Got it issued to me in 1959!

I loved the Navy!

So, what to do?

I told my wife to throw it out when I die!

Maybe donate it to the local VFW post?

1959?! Crap, you're old. :) See what museums might want them for display. I am going through the same thing now with my dad's Marine Corps uniforms circa 1955.

Thank you for your service.

With the full dress uniform, medals, shoes and cover, I recommend donating it to your old High School Alma Mater with picture from your era. Alternatively, it could be donated to the other veterans housing communities for display.

I too received my first uniform in 59. After retiring I trashed all my uniforms. Now I wish I would have kept at least one of them. Why? I do not know.

My senior Chief dress blues are still hanging in the closet. My daughter keeps wanting to wear the dress jacket to school.

Keep it! I disposed of an entire sea bag sometime after I finally finished with the drilling reserves in 1992 at age 46. Just couldn't keep the weight off any more. Anyway, I have regretted getting rid of the uniforms many times. Especially my tailor mades. :crying:

Keep the uniform and throw out the wife!!:tongueout:

LMAO! I'm leaning more toward this. I still have my Dad's dog tags and rank from his cover in Nam, and his Seabag. This stuff is extremely sentimental-I'm sure someone in your family would love to have it.

Funny how much more I love the Navy now that it's been some years since I was in it (1980-89). NAVY: Never Again Volunteer Yourself
