View Full Version : Couldn't decide... So I got BOTH!
I've been thinking about getting a "real" knife for EDC. I've perused many threads here and on FloridaConcealedCarry.com. I couldn't decide between two Spyderco knives. So, I ordered a (very hard to find) Endura 4 G10 and a Caly3 Carbon Fiber. Oh, such dilemmas!!

I reckon you did well. Spyderco makes a heck a knife and is a very respectable company.

The Caly 3 is one sweet knife, my favorite of all the Spydercos.
Caly 3 arrived! Very nice! Surprisingly lightweight. And, holy crap, it's sharp!
Yippee... Just got notice that CutleryShoppe.com has shipped my Endura 4 with G10 handles in "Foliage Green." Should have it in a few days!
To be honest, I wondered if I would really have a practical reason to carry a knife every day. Well, I was wrong. I've already used it to open packages. The funny thing is that I'm not used to carrying it, so I actually went looking for a pair of scissors to open a package. Then I remembered... DUH.... you've already got something way better than scissors!
The Caly 3 is almost what I'd call a perfect size to carry every day. We'll see what I think about the Endura 4.

My Spyderco Tenacious is awesome! Good picks.
I bought my first Spyderco recently. An Endura 4 stainless. I love it. Congrats
Congrats on the new knives! I have a UKPK that is basically a Caly3 slipjoint. I carry it clipped inside my basketball shorts or sweat pants around the house. The size is perfect and carries unnoticeably.
Got my Endura 4 with G10 handle. Very nice knife. A lot bigger than the Caly 3.
Between the two, the Caly 3 will likely be my EDC. It's smaller and sits lower when clipped in the pocket. Looks like a pen could be there.
OTOH, the Endura 4 sticks out when clipped in. Plus I'm not sure what the G10 will do to my dress slacks... but, I suspect it will tear them up.
Of course, I'm keeping both. But, the Endura 4 will probably only come out when I'm more casually dressed and in less formal situations.
i totally understand, agree with, and practice this exact same logic. for me it was a Benchmade model 42 and a Bradley Kimura. i was torn and starting to stress. finally, i thought "dude, just get 'em both" it's generally the best plan
Funny... As I've read posts here about having an EDC knife, I really did wonder, "What the heck for?" I really doubted the practicality / usefulness of carrying a knife. Well, I stand corrected! I can't say I use it EVERY day. But, I'm finding I use it for a variety of things and far more often than I would have ever guessed.
