Does anyone know if HK has any plans to build an HK 45 V1 in a .40? It'd be something like the P30 only with a thumb safety/decocker.

It is available, it is called the P30s It is the P30, set up with the standard decocking button next to the hammer, but with the addition of a manual safety like the HK45 v1, excepting that the safety is not also a decocker, since that is already on the rear of the slide. It is a safety only, and can be applied in the decocked double action mode, or cocked and locked single action mode. Right now, CDNN has some in stock in 40 S&W for around $780. The other wholesalers do not have them in yet, and the equivalent model in 9mm is not out yet, but coming.

Yes, to answer your question. Rumor has it that we are to expect a P30LS (or will it be P30SL) in 40 sometime this summer. It will be the current P30s 40 cal (with shorter slide release lever, and external safety), but with the longer barrel and slide of the P30L. I'm saving my pennies.
