What is the best way to clean ar barrel?

I used a single piece coated rod w/ cotton patch. It makes a really loud squeking sound going threw. I just want to grit my teeth when i hear this sound thinking its tearing up the rifling. I took the patch off and went threw it and did not hear the sound. it is probably just from the patch.

I think i will stick w/ a .22 bore snake from now on.

Sounds almost too clean if the patch is squeeky and comes out clean.
I use foaming cleaner, Wipeout, KG, gunslick etc until the patch stops coming out blue, then clean the solvents out of the bore with an alcohol patch. Then 1 patch with light oil to protect and lubricate the bore then 1 dry patch to remove the excess oil.

Just be sure to remove the excess oil, had a guy blowing primers because he run a sloppy wet patch with motor oil on it and left the excess oil in the bore.
