Hi guys,
I just received a SOG Vulcan Tanto VL-03. A second is on back order, because I sometimes walk my dogs where pistol is not permitted, so knife becomes primary as well as secondary.
It's all that I expected, built like a tank, great ergonomics, except ...
It does not appear to be an assisted open knife. I push the thumb stud, it's smooth, but no spring assist. Ditto for the thingy on the back of knife.
This is listed as "assisted open" on SOG's web site, plus the Arc-Loc is touted there as "lightning fast".
I can easily flick it open after starting with the thumb stud, or back dohicky (someone please help me with terminology :whistling:).
But I *expected* an assisted open knife. Is there a hidden spring I need to hook up, or one I can purchase?
Sigh :crying:
