New Glock 36 owner with a question

Hello all. I am the proud new owner of a G36 and I dig it the most.

One question. When I rack the slide, the firing pin is sometimes sticking out.

Is this normal?

Part of what I was taught about checking a pistol for safety was to make sure the firing pin was not sticking out while racking the slide.

I did notice that it retracted as the slide comes forward but with any new firearm I want to make sure and not just assume that everything is ok.

Love this pistol by the way. Fits my hand like a glove and has been 100% on function. I think the recoil is manageable. I do want to get out to a range that allows rapid fire so I can see how fast I can get back on target and such.

The only mods so far are the +0 grip extenders and some non slip grip stuff that I added to the back strap to keep it from twisting in my hand as I am getting my grip.
