I just got this in - A Franchi SPAS 12. I have been wanting one of these since 1986 and I finally got one. It is missing the handle/hook, but that is no big deal. I am going to try and find one.

Blast from the past.. I will call a friend of mine tomorrow and see if he still has handle/hook for sale.

I just ordered a repro hook for $79. Of course, it would be nice to have an original for a reasonable price.

Nice! The definitive weapon of choice for Velociraptor defense.

I bought a SPAS 12 in 1993 just before the ban. It got stolen and to this day I am still angry at my cousin for letting it get stolen.

I actually made a trade for it. I have about $1300 invested in it.

Congrats on your new purchase

You should read up about the potential problems(and dangers from what I heard) of the lever safely on the SPAS 12. If I recall correctly there was an issue with them that meant that after a period of use(not sure how much), a problem could occur that caused a round to fire if you had one in the chamber while you engaged or disengaged the safety

There was a huge recall and the problem was solved by replacing the lever safety with a push button safety i believe
