GLOCK 26/GTUL magazine disassembly

I just recently purchased a NIB GLOCK 26 and 2 Pearce pinky extensions. I also ordered the GTUL for magazine maintenance. I attempted to change out the floorplate on the magazine to the Pearce pinky extension. When I pushed in the retainer button I could not get the plate to slide and now I think I have the plate inside turned sideways. I have not tried any other tools and tricks yet. I'm looking for ideas on how to get these little magazines apart and to find out if this magazine is still salvageable.

No problem! Put the edge of the floor plate on a hard table and push it off. Be sure to isolate the floor plate only and make sure the table is hard. You are more than likely going to dent the table.

Thanks, I was finally able to get them apart over the weekend and got the pinky extensions installed. Seems I just needed to be more assertive with the GTUL.
