Just came back from R&R

I put 60 rounds of bird, low recoil buck and some 2 3/4 mag slugs and it works great.

I got it for open class shooting in three gun but it would also make a great self defense shotgun.

I have 3 12 round mags and 1 20 round mag. I also got Briley chocks for it.

I am thinking of getting one just like it for the same use (USPSA 3-Gun) and for fun. I guess you can't go prone with the 20 rounder. :) You could probably sit and use it as a monopod.

I really like the AR style safety. Being a lefty the AK style safety is not very convenient when you start the stages on safe.

HOLY GIANT MAGAZINE BATMAN!! I've been looking real hard at a Saiga 12 at the local fun shop. Is it very expensive to add the collapsable stock? I really hate the one that comes standard.

Its 3000 grand for the complete open gun. If you send your gun in its 2500. That is just the basic. I got 2 extra 12 round mags and 1 20 as well as a Briley Chock set (improved cylinder came with the gun, I bought modified, improved modified, and full) I paid 3000 when it was all said and done and I sent him a Saiga. It was very expensive but I am very happy. The gun also is light even with a full mag of 20. I will have to weigh it but it feels lighter than my M4 Benelli.

I swapped out the Magpul CTR stock for a Vltor Emod.

To shoot prone you would need to cant the gun. Most matches don't have prone stages for the shotgun because the pump gunners complain.

Does the slide lock back - after last shot / empty mag?

$3K - :wow:

That is more than I would have guessed - how much are the individual spare mags?

When the Obama will take your guns craze was in full swing I saw a guy selling the (10 round?) Saiga 12 gauge mags for $120 each - I almost crapped my pants 2X

First when I saw the $120 price tag and thought it was for the Saiga Shot gun on the table (I'll take 5) - then again when I realized it was just for one mag.

It does not lock back. Its still an AK in that regard. Not a huge deal in competition as you plan out your reloads. The 12 round mag was $65 bucks or so and the 20 round one is $170.

Very nice. A bit more advanced (and about twice as expensive) as my competition gun. I'm holding out for the MD doublestack mags and mag well...

It's the first shotgun that I've ever seen that needs a bipod or tripod! ;)

Briley chocks, do these go in front or behind the wheel?
