I drive a lot for work and got an iPod a while ago.
I got a bunch of gun podcasts and listened to this one the other day.

(it's about 45min)

All that to come to the conclusion, “They’re a hoot to shoot!”
Now I was listening to this while I was at work (may have missed a minute or two here and there) but I did not really understand their argument for carrying a $3000+ 1911. One minute they are saying if you are going to carry a 1911 then it should be top of the line. Then they were talking about how terrible it would be if you had to defend yourself with your $3000+ gun and it got taken for what would probably be a long time. And for comparison or the "How much is your life worth?" argument, they used the example of a $200 dollar gun. As in the $3000+ gun was more reliable than the $200 gun. And to top it off the guy was carrying an XDm (I believe).
It really wasn’t that bad. I had time to kill. It seemed like it was just a bunch of guys (and a girl) sitting around a table with a mic. talkin guns.
Did you have to pay for this? Where can I find more info.?

In general, I like their podcasts a lot b/c much of the things that they say make sense logically. The 1911 post pretty much follows that vein. Now, I think that high end 1911s are really about pride of ownership more than anything else and that isn't a bad thing. So when that one commenter started on his "what's your life worth" argument, my respect for the show went down a notch. I hate that argument as a justification for spending a lot of money.
