I have become obsessed with shooting Glock pistols. I have my own 25 yard range in my backyard for plinking, with a few steel targets as well. There are not a lot of puplic ranges in my area. I would love to do a little competing, IDPA, USPDA, IPSC, or any group really. I live in NC in the foothills, close to the VA line, is there an easy way to find a local chapter?

Both IDPA and the USPSA website has a "find your local chapter" of organizations. You have to do a little web work of your own, but you can find out exactly where the matches are.

The IDPA gives you a map of the U.S., and you pick the state.

Not sure how far you are from Wilkesboro, but there's a match there.

USPSA has info on their site, and there's this:
http://www.ncsection.org/
On the left are the organizations... you have to click on each one to find out where they are, and you can usually do a Google Map search to find where in NC the city is.

Also go over to www.brianenos.com/forums Introduce yourself as a new shooter looking for places to compete. You will meet people that way easily.

Thanks for the info. I have bookmarked both links, and will do a little searching to find local events. I live about one hour drive from Wilkesboro, and am more than willing to drive there to shoot.

Thanks for the reference, will most certainly look into that.
